"Faith" & gurmat

someone said Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float. And the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging to belief, of holding on. But I have some reservations on this topic , it is this topic exactly that makes sikhi unique .When people say they have faith ,and not belief , their basic premise is wrong : what they mean to say is I have faith (open belief) on something ( god, guru etc.) but dont know why . Hence their faith is actually a belief . And belief without knowledge in any case is "blind". ( but YES when we say Faith is a state of openness or trust. Reincarnation

Vaheguru Vaheguru Vaheguru Vahe jio ! Guru Sahib works in absolutely mysterious ways ! Just yesterday at the weekly Gurbani veechar session (Sunday 11am; for those in bangalore) at the gurdwara we had a long discussion about reincarnation and what are it effects on our understanding of sikhi. And today morning I got this presentation email from a Gursikh piyara, affirming our discussions with the message from Guru Granth Sahib. Its absolutlely cear & beautiful. What Should I be proud of ?

( please note- I am writing this at 2am,so I may sound confusing- but I hope I can convey whats in my heart.) My nation, my religion, my community ? Should I be proud when a Sikh accomplishes something in a sport; or a Punjabi / Indian achieves a superlative heights in a profession ?; Or since I am living in Indiana now - should I be proud when the Colts win ? These questions arise when I try to question my integrity on the belief that the world is one - we are all the children of the same creator. We are all "together" in this journey. So when & whom should I be proud of? Could it be more satisfying if: I were inspired by, and proud of, acts of selfless courage, selfless service performed by anyone in service of humanity; All acts of superlative human achievement. So - I should be proud of human achievement when someone climbs mount Everest - not of the fact that the nation/religion he/she belongs to is the same as mine.
