Reincarnation

Vaheguru Vaheguru Vaheguru Vahe jio ! Guru Sahib works in absolutely mysterious ways ! Just yesterday at the weekly Gurbani veechar session (Sunday 11am; for those in bangalore) at the gurdwara we had a long discussion about reincarnation and what are it effects on our understanding of sikhi. And today morning I got this presentation email from a Gursikh piyara, affirming our discussions with the message from Guru Granth Sahib. Its absolutlely cear & beautiful. "Faith" & gurmat

someone said Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float. And the attitude of faith is the very opposite of clinging to belief, of holding on. But I have some reservations on this topic , it is this topic exactly that makes sikhi unique .When people say they have faith ,and not belief , their basic premise is wrong : what they mean to say is I have faith (open belief) on something ( god, guru etc.) but dont know why . Hence their faith is actually a belief . And belief without knowledge in any case is "blind". ( but YES when we say Faith is a state of openness or trust. Shiva's Poison

As the mythical story goes there is poison in the throat of shiva which he can neither spit out nor swallow, as if he spits it out it would cause panic in the world and he would lose his fame, if he swallows it would kill him ! Well it seems our Maryada Purshotam Pathi's singh's have trapped themselves in a similar situation.I was at a distant relative's home where they had commissioned a "Vidhi poorvak Akhand Paath". Well now, the Pathi has respect because he does all the "Paath paraphernalia " according to the prescribed maryada . And the Prescribed methodology forbids them to stop the reading any time . Now, what happened was that , as it was a kind of a family reunion , many relatives had got together , they started talking in th other room .This was causing a lot of noise , and even the pathi could not hear his own voice.
